Q. WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT IF I ATTEND A CHURCH SERVICE AND WHAT DO PEOPLE WEAR?

A.

Most of our services follow the same format. The 3:00PM service is normally the most crowded. Our services are a little over one hour long and consist of a worship time with contemporary music for the first 35 minutes and a time of Bible teaching for the last 35 minutes. Most people at our services are dressed casually, particularly during the summer when some will come in shorts.

Each worship service provides contemporary music, including a keyboard and a choir. We believe the music is tastefully done in a manner that exalts the Lord and assists our corporate worship of Him. A hymn and/or song lyrics will be provided if required.

Q. IS IT OKAY TO BRING MY CHILDREN INTO THE WORSHIP SERVICE?

A.

Yes, this is not a problem. Some young children may find it difficult to leave their parents in an unfamiliar setting. Yet we believe our children's ministry, in the long run, is the best place for helping the children of True Word of God Church learn more about God. We hope that families who begin to attend our church will come to appreciate the value of their children developing close friendships with their peers in the context of the local church.

Q. HOW BIG IS TRUE WORD OF GOD CHURCH?

A.

Well, it depends on how you count. On any given weekend we will have nearly 150 people attending one of our worship services. This does not count around 75 children who enjoy our children's ministries rather than be in the worship services. If you count all the people that regularly attend True Word of God Church, we would be over two hundred people. Also, because we are just a young church, we expect this numbers to grow overtime.

Q. DOES YOUR CHURCH HAVE PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT RACIAL GROUPS?

A.

We have a healthy racial balance in our church and our church leadership comes from different racial groups. Our ethnic diversity basically mirrors our community, which is to say that most of our church is black. Yet we expect this to gradually change as the years go by. Race has never been an issue in our church.

Q. HOW LONG HAS TRUE WORD OF GOD CHURCH EXISTED?

A.

We were founded as an independent Bible church in 2014. Pastor Lucky Ekhator has been our primary teaching pastor since our opening. For more information about the history of our church, please view our 'About Page'.

Q. WHAT BIBLE VERSION DO YOU USE?

A.

We use many Bible versions. The version most commonly used at True Word of God Church is The King James Version (KJV), which is the translation of choice during our worship services. We find that the King James Version is probably the best word-for-word Bible translation. There are several theories surrounding the most acceptable Bible translation; however, we at True Word of God Church really don't mind what Bible you have as long as you bring it along with you to church so that we can study the word of God together - is all that matters..

Q. WHERE DOES TRUE WORD OF GOD CHURCH GET THE MONEY TO OPERATE?

A.

We are not supported by a denomination or any other outside entity. Our budget is funded entirely through the giving of the people who attend our church. The ever so generous giving of the people of True Word of God Church is surplus enough and surpasses our expectations to keep the house of God afloat. Our church is also debt-free.

Q. DOES TRUE WORD OF GOD CHURCH TAKE AN OFFERING?

A.

While passing an offering plate during the worship service is not wrong, we have chosen to provide boxes in the rear of the auditorium instead. The main reason for this is to decrease the possibility of someone giving to True Word of God Church under a sense of compulsion (2 Corinthians 9:7). We desire that the giving to True Word of God Church be done by people who truly desire to give cheerfully and we believe that those people with this motivation will be able to find the box to place their giving.

Q. ARE YOU A CHARISMATIC CHURCH?

A.

While we consider those who hold to doctrines that define the charismatic movement to be fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, True Word of God Church is a nondenominational church.

Q. WHAT DOES YOUR CHURCH BELIEVE AND WHAT IF I DO NOT AGREE?

A.

Our beliefs can be found in our 'Vision' and/or 'Mission Page' for more in-depth doctrinal issues that we face from time to time. Our teaching is based upon what God says in the Bible and we certainly hope that it will be embraced by everyone. However, we expect that not everyone will agree with everything we teach. We do ask that you accept what we believe, even if you do not agree. What we mean by "accept" is that you will allow us to teach our beliefs without opposing us. We ask this not because we cannot be wrong but rather for the sake of the unity of the church. We are willing and eager to discuss doctrinal issues with everyone who attends True Word of God Church.

Q. DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH?

A.

Yes, we believe we have a very strong children's ministry and youth ministry If you have additional questions about our children's ministry and youth ministry, simply contact the church office on tel. 0416 790 114 for more information or alternatively, go to our contact page and send us an email.

Q. DO YOU MARRY PEOPLE FROM OUTSIDE YOUR CHURCH?

A.

Because of the time constraints due to the demand to build our church ministry, we are not currently conducting weddings for non-church members. However, we aim to be able to do so in the nearest foreseeable future. Please keep an eye on the news page of this site for future developments on getting married in our church.

Welcome

To love The Lord your God is the primary teaching of True Word of God Church. We believe that there is no greater commandment than that of Mark 12:30-31(NASB) that states:

“AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH. YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”
